Terms of Service

By installing or using the Unblock app ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, uninstall the App. These Terms apply to all users of the App distributed by BlueDefense via the Google Play Store or any other authorised channel.

Unblock is a peer-to-peer broadcast messaging application that uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) mesh, Wi-Fi Direct, LoRa radio, and optional Nostr relay bridges to relay signed messages between devices. The App does not provide guaranteed message delivery, uptime, or connectivity. It is designed for best-effort, delay-tolerant communication.

The App does not require registration, an email address, phone number, or any personally identifiable information. Your device identity is a locally-generated cryptographic keypair that never leaves your device.

You are solely responsible for the content you broadcast. You agree not to use the App to: • Broadcast illegal content under the laws of your jurisdiction • Impersonate another person or channel • Attempt to disrupt, flood, or jam the mesh network • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App's security mechanisms • Use the App for any purpose that would violate applicable export control regulations

Unblock operates on a best-effort basis over ad-hoc radio links. BlueDefense makes no guarantee that: • Messages will be delivered to any particular recipient • Messages will be delivered within any particular timeframe • The mesh network will be available or functional in all environments • The App will be compatible with all devices or operating system versions The App is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

To the maximum extent permitted by German law, BlueDefense shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from: • Use or inability to use the App • Messages that fail to deliver, are delayed, or are intercepted • Loss of data, including loss resulting from use of the panic wipe feature • Actions taken by third parties on the mesh network or Nostr relays This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based.

If you configure Nostr relay connections, you are connecting to third-party infrastructure not operated by BlueDefense. Each relay operator has its own terms and policies. BlueDefense is not responsible for the availability, privacy practices, or content policies of any third-party relay.

The Unblock app, its source code, design, and documentation are the intellectual property of BlueDefense. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without explicit written permission.

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. BlueDefense reserves the right to discontinue the App or disable specific features without notice. These Terms survive termination with respect to content you have already broadcast.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Berlin, Germany.

BlueDefense may update these Terms at any time. The current version is always available at https://bluedefense.de/unblock/terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
